Trans-Fats Substitute

by Patricia
(Poland)

Question

What do you use to fry and bake if not transfat products?

Answer

Coconut oil is great. It tolerates high heat. Coconut oil contains medium chain fatty acids which support good health. Evidently, very few are destroyed when exposed to high heat. They do not become a trans fat product.

I do highly recommend getting organic expeller pressed coconut oil to avoid any toxic chemicals. These could exist in the non-organic oils after they have been grown or processed.

For instance... using synthetic chemicals for fertilizer and pesticides or using harsh chemicals during the refining, bleaching and deodorising stages - you want to avoid that.

You can learn more about coconut oil on my Superfoods page. There's some mention of it, if you scroll down. Plus I've given reference to a couple of good books on coconut oil further down that page as well.

Feel free to ask more questions if you have them.
