Organic Foods - Right to Your Door
Today, organic foods are easier to find. Years ago, I bought my organic foods from a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and I had to go to a food drop location to pick it up every week.
But this farm will deliver right to your door and you can decide how often you get it. This system is here in California but I also found more farms in the US. Just look further on down this page if you're interested.
If you live in Northern or Southern California, you can find out if and when they'll deliver to you by clicking the following link. They also deliver to businesses which makes it more convenient for some people.

Organic Foods are Easier to Find
Things ARE changing!!! Children are even demanding them. This first video is put together by a 5th grade class with a remarkable effect on the audience. It's put together really well and gives a lasting impression. Even if you've seen this one before, watch it again and you'll end up with a smile on your face.
But... What does 'Natural' really mean?
Now, I know 'natural' never meant 'organic' but it's always meant something wholesome and healthy throughout my entire life. I'd like to take the word back and out of the realm of confusion.
So here's something to know about the word 'Natural' - and what food marketing has been trying to do with it. it's time to take on more responsibility for our food. Do the looking ourselves.
Keep this in mind when you are reading labels. A product containing the word 'natural' may really BE natural so look further at the ingredients and see what's there.
Secrets to Healthy Food Buying
There is a lot of confusion being placed into the food marketing industry. I ran across a website that has an entire page devoted to help you tell what to look for when you want good healthy food and what ingredients to avoid.
Understanding Product Labels
When you go to the grocery stores, health food stores or even drug stores (they seem to be getting into 'healthy foods' now as well), be prepared. Know what to look for on the labels, like contradictory information or missing information.
If the container does not have the word 'non-gmo' on it (gmo means genetically modified organism), and it has only a few items listed as 'organic' while other items just don't say - be aware that it could contain gmo's. I have called companies and asked, and was told that they would look into it. They did make changes. When they are honest companies, they appreciate our help.
Soy is one item that has to be labeled non-gmo, otherwise it probably is gmo. I've read that 90% of the soy produced in the US is gmo. Corn is another one to watch out for.
We can all help by observing and then reporting when we find problems like this so they can make changes. In the mean time, don't buy from them.
More Organic Deliveries in the US!
You'll find organic foods at a lot more locations, i.e., Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado, Kansas City, Michigan, and Milwaukee. Check out this website:
