The amount of nutrients vary depending on where it's grown. Here is a list to give you some idea:

  • 2.2% fatty acids mainly consisting of linoleic acid, palmitic acid and oleic acid,

  • calcium,

  • magnesium,

  • phosphorous,

  • potassium,

  • sulfur,

  • iron,

  • trace minerals, which includes zinc, iodine, copper, selenium, bismuth, manganese

  • silica,

  • vitamin B1,

  • vitamin B2,

  • vitamin C,

  • vitamin E,

  • close to 20 amino acids,

  • 7 essential amino acids,

  • sterols, which includes sitosterol, campestrol, ergosterol, brassicasterol, and ergostadienol.


Maca is an edible root plant like a potatoe but contains five times more protein and four times more fiber.
