What nutrients are in Maca?
The amount of nutrients vary depending on where it's grown. Here is a list to give you some idea:
Dried Maca Powder
- 60% carbohydrates,
- 9% fiber,
- 10% protein,
- 2.2% fatty acids mainly consisting of linoleic acid, palmitic acid and oleic acid,
- trace minerals, which includes zinc, iodine, copper, selenium, bismuth, manganese
- vitamin B1,
- vitamin B2,
- vitamin C,
- vitamin E,
- close to 20 amino acids,
- 7 essential amino acids,
- sterols, which includes sitosterol, campestrol, ergosterol, brassicasterol, and ergostadienol.
Maca is an edible root plant like a potatoe but contains five times more protein and four times more fiber.
