Cacao Nibs Recipe
Our Basic Healthy Chocolate Recipe
This cacao nibs recipe is made from raw organic certified cacao nibs. You can learn how to create your own recipes from this one, healthy, chocolate recipe. If you love chocolate and want to be healthy, this may be your ticket.
Eating chocolate again has changed our lives - something I thought I'd lost many years ago when I decided I wanted to eat healthy.
Our Cacao Nibs Recipe - Basic Ingredients
The very basic ingredients are just three items in this recipe, which is enough for about three 3 oz servings.
The cacao bean is very high in magnesium and low in calcium. It goes better in the body when balanced some way with a natural source of calcium. A high quality mesquite powder is just the opposite. It's high in calcium and low in magnesium. When we combine them, they go very well together in keeping the body balanced.
A word of caution, not all mesquite have the ideal amount of calcium. I've found a good source that is higher in protein and calcium than most.
The following ingredients are listed generically with our example:
- 2/3 cup of Liquid: Coconut Water or Good Water
- 2 to 3 Tbsp Fat: Raw Organic Coconut Oil
- 1/4 tsp Natural Sweetener: Stevia - the amount will vary depending on individual taste and kind of sweetener.
- 2 or 3 drops Flavoring: Organic or Therapeutic Peppermint Essential Oil
Dry Ingredient Preparation
Follow the directions from either of these two links. The Oster Mini Jar is the easiest.
If you happen to have a Vita Mix or BlendTec, follow the directions they give for a similar food preparation. I'm sure it will be a lot easier, although I haven't tried it.
Grinding Nibs Using a Blender
Easy Grind Nibs - Using the Oster Mini Jar
Once the dry ingredients are finely ground, they should be in a container other than your blender. Your blender will be used just for the liquids and then you'll be adding the dry ingredients so as to get a smooth chocolate treat.
Blending - Final Steps
Here are the final steps of this basic Cacao Nibs Recipe. Just use the following link, and you'll find the directions there.
